This joint is the real deal. Día de los Muertos vibes. Stiff drinks. Vegan and gluten-free friendly 🍄 portobello tacos 🌮 with verde salsa was chef’s kiss! 💋 All staff are friendly and accommodating. The food I brought to-go was amazing, according to those who ate it; delicious beef. Hugo especially went out of the way to make my 10 year old’s bday incredible. 🎈Kids specials and happy hour menu. Can’t be beat! Thanks, we will return soon.🎉

The quick 411... LOVE this place!! Must haves - margarita on the rocks salted rim, carne asada street tacos, carne asada nachos. Very casual, unique and fun dining experience. Plenty of parking in back and great service too!

Visited Ellijay for a weekend and Cantina El Rey was our favorite restaurant! Really good food, great atmosphere and service! The patio was cool with a nice TV and large tables! They even went above and beyond after I left a personal item there by mistake, going out of their way to ship it back to me so I didn't have to make the 6 hour round trip!!

My bro and I went to eat last evening. It was my first visit to the El Rey restaurant, and I have to say, the service was great, the food was abundant and to my surprise, the food was beyond delicious!!! Visiting from the east LA area, where Mexican restaurants are a staple in the community, El Rey stands alone when it comes to abundance and flavor. It was so much fun to come and hang out with the fantastic crowd. The DJ, Al, knew how to read the crowd and had everyone dancing! Alicia, the waitress, was excellent. She cared for us, ensuring we had our drinks and food ready, which was amazing. We celebrated my daughter's birthday party and had a fantastic time!
